Portraiture with Cora Waterhouse

One of LaGrange’s most beloved art instructors is returning from her world-wide adventures to teach a class on portraiture. Cora Waterhouse is a firm believer in the importance of the ability to draw to master the art of portraiture. The first day will be spent sketching a live model. Students will refine their charcoal sketch before glazing with oil wash to prepare for oil painting. Day 2 is portrait painting using Zorn Palette. Supply list to be provided.

Enjoy an afternoon of experimentation and fun while you learn the fundamentals of the medium. You will learn basic techniques every watercolorist uses and develop color harmony in your paintings. Fundamentals of Oil Painting Using a Light and Shadow Approach with Laura Lanford

Learn how to speak with the visual language of paint by simplifying complex subject matter into basic abstract compositions. Differentiate and establish six values to convey dynamic and clear paintings. Laura will also demonstrate how to use a variety of tools to get unique effects with paint that might be difficult with a brush. Supply list to be provided.
Sip and Paint Workshops

Join us in the CCL for an evening of Creativity and Fun! Local artists will walk you through the painting process to create your own masterpiece. No experience necessary! All art materials are provided (canvas, paints, brushes, aprons, etc.) Bring a bottle of wine, a snack, a date, a friend or make a new one! You must be at least 21 years of age with proper identification to consume alcohol. Painting begins PROMPTLY at class time! Please arrive 30 minutes prior to class time to park, check-in, unwind, uncork, & get smocked.
