Ready, Set, Sew!

There is just “sew” much you can create by learning this skill! For those with little-to-no experience with a needle or sewing machine, discover the fundamentals of sewing. Bring your own machine and learn valuable tips and tricks. You will build skills and develop knowledge as you complete two beautiful projects, a tote bag to organize and placemats with napkins (materials included).

This is an introduction to the materials and techniques of painting and drawing for all students. Working from direct observation and a variety of subject matter, this class will focus on color and basic concepts of form, light, and composition.

Join us for this workshop on how to use paint and munipulate with a palette knife as we work on this beautiful, soft landscape. We will use GOLDEN Soft Gel Matte and Fluid Acrylics on Ampersand Gessoboard panels. You get to keep the palette knife set of 5 and all supplies are included. Just show up and enjoy with us as we explore the loose and fun approach of palette knife painting on panel.

Even if you never leave the Studio, applying the basic Plein Air Techniques will improve your ability to add depth, atmosphere and life to your Landscapes. This workshop will cover basic to advanced techniques of painting in Plein Air and how to apply them to your studio work or use them out in the field. It’s a matter of learning how to see, deciding what’s important to the scene, and recognizing how much information you can lose in a photo. Participants will learn how to gather information every time they set foot outside, even when they are not painting. Join me for three days of lively demos, hands-on painting and one-on-one instruction.


Fundamentals of Photography with Shannon Belletti

Learn the art and science of taking great pictures through lecture and hands-on practice. Topics include: aperture, ISO, shutter speed, white balance, equipment & accessories and the basics of composition. Upon completion, you’ll have a solid understanding of your cameras menus, buttons & settings & how to use them! Requirements: SLR or mirrorless camera with at least one lens (around 35-50mm recommended), tripod recommended but not required.
