This is an introduction to the materials and techniques of painting and drawing for all students. Working from direct observation and a variety of subject matter, this class will focus on color and basic concepts of form, light, and composition.

Artist and teacher Micah Goguen introduces participants to the medium of pastels. Learn techniques like blocking and alcohol washing while creating a lush landscape. No drawing skills or art experience required.

To complement our Eat. Sleep. Art. Repeat. exhibition we are serving up this tasty opportunity for creating edible and visual masterpieces. Join professional cake designer Teresa Phillips as she teaches the skills to decorate your own cake. Then, using these sweet creations as inspiration, participants will make their own cake-themed art project in the style of painter Wayne Thiebaud.
