Adult Pottery Wheel Workshop with Nick McNeal (2 Parts)

Nick’s course will consist of basic throwing techniques, trimming, and decorating. This course will last for 2 sessions. The first session will be learning to throw on the wheel and some hand building techniques. The second class will be trimming and decorating your work, and will focus on glazing techniques and the firing process.
Nick McNeal is a local potter in LaGrange, Georgia. For the past 14 years he has taught elementary school in the Troup County School System, but recently started teaching in the Harris County School System. Nick enjoys working out of his home studio in Lagrange. He has been creating pottery for the past 21 years, with a focus on wheel thrown work. His work mainly consists of oxidation/electric fired cone 6 clay and glazes, but has recently moved into the cone 10/ reduction gas fired work. He enjoys selling his work in local stores and festivals throughout the year. He has sold his work at Callaway Gardens, Hummingbird Festival, and other local fairs. Recently, he completed over 400 pieces for the Georgia Art Education Association. He is excited to have the opportunity to teach new potters and help begin their journey into the world of ceramics.
